You have questions – we have the answers. The following is a list of frequently asked questions about your application and the corresponding answers.

Are the job advertisements on the GW website up to date?
Our recruitment team updates the job vacancies on our website every day. You are welcome to submit an application for as long as a job vacancy is posted on our website.

How should I compile my application?
We will be happy to receive your CV, a cover letter, and the certificates relevant for your application. Please ensure that any uploaded files are no larger than 5 MB.

Why apply online?
By clicking on “Apply”, your application for the selected position will be submitted directly via our online recruitment system, enabling it to be processed much faster. You can view the current progress of your application at any time through your candidate profile. You can also keep your documents up to date and apply for other jobs at a later date without having to re-submit your details.

Do I have to register to send an application?
You have two ways of applying. If you want to use the “Application with a profile” option, you need to register. This will enable you to view and edit your candidate profile at any time. The “Express application” option enables you to apply for a vacancy quickly and on a one-time basis without having to register.

What is the benefit of the “Application with a profile” option?
If you register and apply “with a profile”, you can access your candidate profile and your data at any time. You can keep your documents up to date and apply for other jobs at a later date without having to re-submit your details.

What is an “express application”?
An express application enables you to submit an application quickly and easily ONE TIME without having to register. After having sent your application, a candidate profile will automatically be created and you will receive your personal login details by e-mail.

How does the application process work?
Our recruitment experts will compare the profiles received with the requirements of the vacancies. We conduct interviews by telephone or Skype, particularly when it comes to international applicants, in order to define mutual expectations even before a face-to-face meeting is held. If you are invited for an interview, you will receive specific information in advance about when and where to go, along with a contact address. Our managers are involved in the process from the very beginning and will also be present during the meetings.

Can I apply on my own initiative?
All positions at GW to be filled are advertised openly – we attach great importance to transparency. We recommend applying for a specific vacancy. This will ensure clarity about your professional interests and demonstrate that you have taken a close look at our wide range of different job offers. If you are not sure whether an advertised position matches your profile, we will be happy to give you some advice here. If we have not advertised a suitable vacancy, you are welcome to upload your candidate profile and we will contact you once a suitable job opportunity arises.

How do I create a candidate profile?
Register and set up your own individual candidate profile using the “Create account” option. Upload your documents, choose your field of interest and save your entries. This information will then automatically be stored in our pool of candidates. We will only contact you if a suitable job opportunity for you arises. 

Does GW accept short or serial applications and application websites?
We are unable to follow short / serial applications or application websites. Please send only complete applications that are clearly intended for a particular position in our company.

What are the application deadlines for job advertisements?
We always take the time to fill vacancies with the most suitable candidate, which means that we do not have rigid application deadlines. Only advertisements for trainee positions (apprenticeship and trainee programs) are published with a deadline.

Which criteria are used to select employees?
Each position has different demands in terms of the experience, qualifications and personality of the candidates. These factors come together to form a basis for any decision made regarding an application, which means that generalized answers are not possible here. What we can say is the following: we live and breathe diversity and encourage collaboration between different genders, young and old, various ethnic/religious groups and people with special needs.  

May I apply for several positions?
We are open to parallel applications, yet we still recommend that you keep a common thread in mind. Applications made for highly diverse positions can make it difficult for us to get a clear idea of your interests and skills.

How long does it take for me to receive feedback on my application?
After submitting your application, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail confirming its receipt. Another two or three weeks may pass, or even longer in individual cases, before your documents have been reviewed by the recruiters and the specialist departments, but we do try to give you prompt feedback on your application.  

May I reapply following a rejection?
Our rejections concern individual applications, not individual persons. If you find an alternative vacancy that interests you, we would be happy to receive another application from you. If you are not sure whether an advertised position matches your profile, we will be happy to give you some advice here.

Will I be reimbursed for the costs of taking part in an interview?
GW only reimburses such costs in Germany if agreed in advance. There are no provisions for such reimbursement in Austria and Switzerland.

How can I get more information about a job?
Every job advertisement comes with a contact person who best knows the requirements for the advertised position. Click here for the contact details of our recruitment experts.

How does the express application option work when I use my mobile device?
You need to disable the pop-up settings on your smartphone.

Why am I receiving a message saying that my e-mail address is already registered?
This means that you are already registered in our application system with your e-mail address. If you have forgotten your user details, please click on this link “Go directly to applicant login”. Please select “Have your forgotten your password?” below the login field and enter your e-mail address to be sent new login details. This process is automated and takes just a few minutes. Please do not re-register using another e-mail address.  

I have forgotten my login details. What do I do?
Please click on “Vacancies” in the careers section and select “Go directly to applicant login”. Please select “Forgot password” below the login field and enter your e-mail address to be sent new login details. This process is automated and takes just a few moments. Please do not re-register using another e-mail address.

How can I change or add information to my details?
You can change, supplement, or delete the details in your candidate profile at any time. Any changes made in your candidate profile will take effect immediately and also be included in previous or open applications.

Can I interrupt my application and continue at a later point in time?
As soon as you have created a candidate profile and registered online, you will receive an e-mail from us with your account’s login details. This will enable you to leave your candidate profile at any time and pick up where you left off later. Any details stored up to that point will naturally be saved.

I receive an error message, by re-entering into my candidate profile.
Please close the browser and reopen it. Then delete all cookies and the history. Now you should be able to re-enter your candidate profile via the login mask. If not, try another browser/device. IMPORTANT: Please exit by clicking on "unsubscribe"!

How does Gebrüder Weiss handle my data?
Any data you send us will be kept confidential. Please refer to the information on privacy under item 2.8 for further details.  

How can I withdraw my application?
If you select the respective job advertisement in your candidate profile under “Applications”, you can remove your application from the respective procedure by clicking on the “Withdraw application” button.
If you would like to delete your entire candidate profile, select “Settings” under the “Options” tab and delete your profile using the button at the bottom right of the screen.
