Transport of rotor blades for wind turbines

Extraordinary cargo halfway around the world: Transport of 34 metre long rotor blades for wind turbines from Spain to India. The first part of the route, from Ponferrada to Bilbao (437km), was completed in less than 24 hours with the help of special extendable semi-trailers.

The rotors were temporarily stored in Bilbao and then transported by ship via the Suez Canal and stops in Algeria and Türkiye over a distance of 6,937 sea miles (equals 12,847km) to India.
