With the Regulation 22/2023. (XII. 5.) ÉKM the Hungarian government has decided to introduce restructured toll rates as per January 1, 2024. A new axle group "J5" (5 or more axles) and a CO2 category will be introduced and the road network subject to tolls will be expanded (a part of M0 will be included). The external costs for air and noise pollution, which have already been charged to date, will now be differentiated between urban and rural areas.
The new tariffs are therefore made up of the following three fee components:
