Toll in Slovakia

The Slovak government has implemented the EU Infrastructure Charging Directive with Government Decree No. 418/2024 Coll. Therefore toll rates will include a further component – CO₂ emissions – starting with July 1, 2025. 

The new toll rates are now composed as follows:

• Infrastructure charge
• Fee for external costs associated with traffic-caused CO₂ emissions
• Fee for external costs associated with traffic-caused air pollution

The toll charge depends on the number of axles, the emission standard, the distance covered on toll roads, the chosen category of road network (highways/main roads) as well as on the truck’s CO₂ emission class.
