Strategy

Three-dimensions of sustainability

Sustainable action is an act of common sense - and part of our quality promise. We conserve resources and constantly seek intelligent solutions that render our corporate strategy sustainable – ecologically, economically and socially.

Our commitment at a glance

Economy

Thanks to its robust financial base, Gebrüder Weiss is independent and strategically focused on maintaining long-term success rather than maximizing quarterly profits. We also prioritize longevity in our partnerships with customers, and guarantee uniform standards and outstanding quality at all of our locations worldwide.

People

Our employees are our top priority. Their health, safety and happiness always come first. We promote cooperation between different genders and generations and different ethnic and religious groupings, while also fostering the inclusion of people with special needs. With our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program we contribute to projects that benefit society at large.

Environment

We aspire to be climate-neutral by 2030. Having analyzed our current CO2 emissions, we know what is needed to gradually reduce levels to zero at our locations. Resource-saving solutions, smart mobility concepts and modern logistics facilities are all key factors in this equation. We operate our own wind farm, install photovoltaic systems at our warehouses and deploy hydrogen trucks. We also contribute our logistics know-how to research into mobility.

Suppliers and subcontractors

To ensure that supply chains are as sustainable as possible, we look for like-minded suppliers and subcontractors who ad here to similar principles. To this end, we have drafted our Guidelines for Suppliers. These significantly influence our purchasing decisions.
