Changes Air & Sea Management

Internal changes are taking place in the top management of the company’s Air & Sea operations:

Former Air & Sea Regional Manager East, Harald Kostial, is leaving the Vienna-Maria Lanzendorf site and will succeed Markus Röthlin as the Air & Sea Regional Manager West at the Wolfurt terminal. In his position Kostial is responsible for the Group’s Air & Sea operations in Switzerland and Southern Germany as well as in his own home region Vorarlberg. One of his major goals is the further expansion of the Air & Sea department in Switzerland.  Markus Röthlin is moving to the
Air & Sea headquarters (based in Wolfurt) with the responsibility of promoting the expansion of the international Gebrüder Weiss network in strategically important growth markets, with a special focus on Africa.

Kostial’s successor in Vienna-Maria Lanzendorf will be Jochen Humpeler, former Managing Director  of Weiss-Röhlig Middle East, located in Dubai. As the new Air & Sea Regional Manager East, Humpeler will pursue development of air and sea operations in the Eastern Region
(Vienna, Burgenland, Lower Austria, Slovakia and Hungary). This also includes the expansion of the business areas along the Silk Road as well as the further convergence with GW’s continental transport services. The management of the location in Dubai is assumed by Jürgen Hammerer, who has been with GW Air & Sea for twelve years with his last position being Trade Lane Manager in the United States. ”Our strategic goal is to keep developing the Air & Sea business and to strengthen our global orientation,” says Board Member Heinz Senger-Weiss. ”With the new appointments of experienced managers from our own ranks for these important positions, we were able to find our dream solution.”
