New branch manager at Gebrüder Weiss GmbH Graz

Armin Dunst (42) took over the management of the GW Graz Branch from the New Year. Dunst sets his sights on growth - despite the difficult economic situation.

As of 1.1.2009, the Graz branch of the Gebrüder Weiss Group has a new manager: Armin Dunst is taking over the position of Erich Schafer who will now concentrate more strongly on the development of South-East European business. Dunst will now manage the location with its approximately 175 employees. The 42-year old Dunst is well prepared for his new position. He has been Area Manager Logistics for GW Graz since 2003 and is also involved in group-wide logistics strategy development.
The new branch manager is faced with a great challenge in light of the current economic development. Nevertheless, Armin Dunst is optimistic about the future: "Of course we cannot simply ignore the current economic development. But GW Graz has an excellent team and offers the brilliant quality always known - an ideal starting position for positive development, even in difficult times." Dunst will continue his predecessor's tried and tested route of continued and sustained growth but also plans to set new trends of his own: In particular, distribution will be restructured and extended, existing market presence expanded and competence in customised logistic solutions will be given stronger positioning.

From apprentice to branch manager
Armin Dunst knew the Graz Branch even before 2003 when started working there. His career began in 1987. In addition to his forwarder apprenticeship he gained three years of useful experience in different departments. Afterwards he has been in logistics and consulting and re-joined GW Graz in 2003.

In future, the previous Branch Manger, Erich Schafer will concentrate on his position as Regional Manager South due to the growing importance of South-East European countries demanding ever-increasing attention. To GW Graz, also part of Region South, Schafer will continue a close association.

For the 2007 fiscal year, the logistics enterprise generated a turnover of 950 million euros.
