Ground Breaking Ceremony in Slovakia

Gebrüder Weiss and the construction company Zipp broke ground for the construction of the new logistics terminal in Senec on 1st July.

Relocation to the new facility is scheduled for the end of February 2010. The new building comprises a transhipment hall 3,800 sqm in size and a logistics hall 4,600 sqm in size. Offices will cover an area of 1,300 sqm Jürgen Bauer, Regional and Land Manager, comments on the planned amount to be invested of 8.5 million Euros: ”With this new facility, we concentrate our activities in the Bratislava region on a central location. Owing to optimised process flows, we can now provide our customers with even more efficient solutions in the fields of transport and logistics.” A 14-headed project team takes charge of the implementation on site.

Gebrüder Weiss Slovakia was founded in 1993 and currently comprises a staff of more than 200 employees at six locations (Bratislava, Senec, Žiar nad Hronom, Košice, Poprad, and Žilina). In addition to the comprehensive 24-hour distribution and logistics services, GW has already offered international groupage and full-load transports from and to Slovakia since 1995.
