GW: ground broken in Slovakia

On July 1st, Gebrüder Weiss broke the ground for the construction of the new logistics terminal in Senec.

Moving to the new terminal has already been scheduled for the end of February 2010. The new centre consists of a handling terminal of 3.800m² and a logistics terminal of 4.600m². An area of 1.300m² has been planned for offices.

Together with the construction company Zipp the ground was broken in Senec near Bratislava on July 1st. Jürgen Bauer, regional manager for the eastern area, explains, ”This new terminal concentrates our activities in Greater Bratislava in one central location. This enables us to offer our customers more efficient solutions in the fields of transport and logistics because of optimized proceedings.”

The total amount of investments in the new terminal in Senec is set at € 8,5 million. A project team of 14 people attends to realization on site. Gebrüder Weiss Slovakia was founded in 1993 and presently employs more than 200 people in six locations (Bratislava, Senec, Ziar nad Hromom, Kosice, Poprad and Zilina). Apart from nationwide 24-hour distribution and logistics Gebrüder Weiss has been offering international groupage and carloads traffics from and to Slovakia since 1995.
