Austria: double taxation agreement with Albania

The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber reports that the double taxation agreement was already signed in Tirana in autumn 2007 and has meanwhile been adopted by the Austrian and the Albanian parliament. Having entered into force on September 1, it will be applied from January 1, 2009 on. 
On the one hand this agreement creates legal certainty for assigning the right of taxation for economic cross-border activities and on the other hand it is expected to consolidate and extent the economic relations.
