New pallet standards for Croatia

On January 1st, 2008 Croatia introduced the new pallet standard ISPM nr.15. This standard defines in which form solid-wood means of packaging (pallets) must be treated to protect them permanently from infestation by pests.

Therefore since January 1st only such pallets must be used for deliveries to Croatia which meet this standard and are marked correspondingly.
This means for export firms that wooden means of packaging not treated as demanded and without ISPM-marking are stopped by the customs authorities at the customs control and further transportation may be forbidden.
